One of the highlights of Paris Deco Off was the opportunity to tour the Pierre Frey archives and their headquarters. Their team could not have been more warm and welcoming and to see their new collections up close was delightful. The archives contain textiles from the Renaissance onwards, serving as inspiration for new lines. Everything they do is informed by a rich heritage and understanding of the past and present. My favorite new collection is Jardin A La Francaise, inspired by the gardens of Versailles.

Some of my favorites from walking around Paris. In January, a lot of Christmas decorations are still up, making it extra special to walk around at night, with twinkling lights still stuffed in live greenery everywhere. Dozens of chic cocker spaniels, gorgeous planters, and classical architecture everywhere you look are part of what makes this city so special.

These are renderings for a studio class I just completed. This was a two-story loft renovation for a family of two physicians and their elementary-school age children, as well as their dog. They requested warm colors (a contrast to the sterile, white environments they work in) and durable, easy-to-clean materials. It was a challenge avoiding white as much as possible but also fun creating spaces that felt clean and edited but also had character.

These are some drawings I did for a client to help them visualize different quartz backsplash designs behind their range. ⁠

This was one of my favorite consults this year. The client brought me in to help with some of the finishing touches to their kitchen, part of a beautiful, very old farmhouse that they are taking great care to renovate. Consults like these are fun because my fee for these sessions are minimal and it helps client get unstuck when it comes to a design question. I am so honored to be named one of the winners of

I am so honored to be named one of the winners of this year’s Rocky Lafleur scholarship fund student design competition sponsored by Kneedler Fauchere. I will use it to go to Paris in January 2026 for Deco Off. ⁠
Rocky, from what I’ve heard, was a gregarious, humble man who loved people, traveling, and design. He had a genuine curiosity about others and the world, which in my opinion, is one of the purest forms of humility. You could be the janitor, the barista, a design student, or a wealthy client and he would give you his time and full attention, regardless. That’s how I aspire to treat people.⁠
I love that Rocky grew up in a town of 500 people in South Dakota. Like him, I grew up in a small town (a crumbling oil and steel town in western PA) but have always been attracted to the idea of making my surroundings beautiful, inspiring, and beneficial to the community I live in. Growing up in a small town makes you appreciate how pivotal good design and architecture can be to a thriving community.⁠
I used to think, naively, that medicine was one of the only ways to help your community, but the more I am immersed in the architecture and design world, I've realized that that is not the case. We spend most of our time inside a structure of some kind and how it is designed makes a huge impact on our wellbeing, how we see the world, and how we think and feel. ⁠
I'm looking forward to making my small part of the world a better place with the education I’ve received at UCLA and opportunities like this scholarship. I'm still figuring out where my place will be in the interior design world, but wherever it is, I hope to make Rocky proud.⁠
You can see some of my renderings of the dining alcove, study and great room above. This was a design for a Midwest lake house that would be used by a large multi-generational family as a gathering space year-round.

There is something lovely and comforting about bei

There is something lovely and comforting about being surrounded by books. ⁠
I remember being in the Chestnut Hill Barnes and Nobles during grad school and maybe it was because I studied too much and I was stressed, and I started crying in the Classics section because it was like I was surrounded by all these good friends. I think I missed reading something that wasn't about acid base disorders. I know, that may sound weird. But there is no limit, in my mind, to how many books you should have and I love sticking them around the house to add some interest and color.
