About Me

I’m Anne, an interior designer who enjoys collaborating with clients to create beautiful, functional spaces for themselves and their families. I started my professional career in medicine, working as a pediatric orthopedic surgery physician assistant for over a decade before pursuing my love for interiors and architecture full time. While these two careers may seem unrelated, my background in academic medicine has given me a unique skill set that I carry into every design project. Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, thorough research, and an understanding of how spaces affect well-being are all skills I gained during my time in medicine and influence my approach to design.

I am completing a certificate in Interior Architecture and Design from UCLA, where I am refining my technical skills and understanding of design principles. I want to offer my clients the best and I believe a thorough interior design education can help me achieve that. Design school has ensured that I understand current best practices, design history, color theory, surface materials, and lighting. Combined with my previous professional experiences, my time at UCLA has given me a well-rounded approach to creating thoughtful, beautiful spaces.

Although I grew up in northwestern Pennsylvania, I have spent most of my adult life living in  Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and Honolulu, Hawaii. Each of these places has shaped my perspective, exposing me to a range of styles - from the historic charm of the East Coast to the relaxed aesthetic of island life. These experiences have broadened my design vocabulary, allowing me to blend different elements and create spaces that are fresh and highly personal.

During college, I lived in Juarez, Mexico for two summers, working for a non-profit building homes in some of the poorest neighborhoods there. That experience gave me exposure to construction skills like pouring a slab, working with concrete and mortar, framing, and roofing. Most importantly though, it showed me how necessary even a basic home can be to the safety and well-being of its occupants.

I am excited to bring what I have learned and experienced back to western Pennsylvania and am thrilled to be serving my community in this new way, bringing creativity, excellence, and a fresh perspective to every project. Let’s create something beautiful together!
